####Construint la Ciutat Intel·ligent des de baix: Ara és LoRa
Fa anys que s’està treballant per construir ciutats intel·ligents connectant sensors i actuadors a la xarxa. Ens preguntem però de quina manera ho podem fer per fomentar la independència tecnològica i l’autonomia social.
L’estiu passat a Amsterdam un grup de ciutadans van col·locar 10 antenes d’una nova tecnologia de radio lliure (LoRa) per cobrir la ciutat amb una xarxa de dades d’accés lliure (denominada Things Network). Aquest model s’està replicant arreu del món i té el potencial de posar les bases d’una ciutat intel·ligent construïda des de baix i en mans de la ciutadania (commons).
En aquesta jornada parlarem sobre els bens comuns com a model de governança col·lectiva, de la xarxa “Long Range” (LoRa) i el Things Network, de les possibilitats de desplegar-ho a Barcelona i Catalunya, de les oportunitats però també limitacions i riscs de l’Internet de les Coses, del paper transformador de l’Arduino i de com pensar en models de negoci dins d’ecosistemes sostenibles.

####Building the Smart City from down to top: Now is the time
For years people have been working to build smart cities by connecting sensors and actuators to the network. But we wonder what can we do to encourage technological independence and social autonomy.
Last summer a group of citizens in Amsterdam placed 10 antennas of a new technology of free radio (LoRa) to cover the city with an open access data network (called The Things Network). This model is being replicated around the world and has the potential to lay the foundations for a smart city built from below and in the hands of
Citizens (commons).
During this conference we’ll talk about the commons goods as a model of collective governance of the “Long Range” network (LoRa) and the Things Network, the possibilities to deploy it in Barcelona and Catalonia, but also about the limits and risks of the Internet of Things, the transforming role of Arduino and how to think about business models within sustainable ecosystems.
